Mirren has been named as the new manager for Scotland's senior team following his appointment as head coach of Manchester United.
Mirren, who previously played for Celtic and was part of their successful 2018-2019 title-winning campaign, will be taking over from former Scottish international David Moyes, who left the club in January.
The move comes after Mirren struggled to find a consistent rhythm during his time at Manchester United, where he had been appointed as caretaker boss ahead of the 2018-2019 season.
However, Mirren has now secured a permanent contract with the club and is expected to lead the team through the rest of the season.
In a statement on his appointment, Mirren said: "I am delighted to take this role and I look forward to working closely with the team and the players to help them achieve their potential.
"I have enjoyed my time at Manchester United and believe that we can build upon our achievements and progress further in the coming seasons."
